Seminars
CLIC will use local businesses as local experts and educators. Seminars and programs taught by local people will help create a better sense of community while helping those who work here to promote their business.
Seminars will not be limited to our business community. Programs can be suggested by anyone in the community. CLIC staff will work to find interesting and informative people to present on suggested topics.
Panel Discussions
Panel discussions are an efficient way to present different viewpoints on a subject. Many examples can be sited. If the topic were high blood pressure, for example, the panel could consist of a nutritionist, a patient with high blood pressure, a health care professional and a pharmacist. All would contribute their expertise and thus the program would offer a great deal of insight from different perspectives. When the panel has completed their introductory comments, questions from the audience can be addressed to the appropriate panel member.
A panel discussion could revolve around any subject parenting skills, travel, teenage driving, etc.
Groups Meetings
CLIC can become a meeting place for a variety of groups whether they be weight watchers, scout troops, investment clubs, language conversation groups . . . any group that needs a central location for a gathering. When completed, CLIC will be able to run several activities at one time. There will small and large meeting rooms available. A small user fee might be assessed.
Educational Courses
There are many educational courses offered that people in our area do not take advantage of because of the distance incurred getting to the location of the course. It is a goal of CLIC to bring some of these courses "closer to home".
